The Austintown Township Police District is accepting applications and is seeking highly motivated and energetic persons for an entry level patrol officer position.

Minimum requirements for a patrol officer:

  1. Twenty-one (21) years of age or older
  2. Earned a high school diploma or GED
  3. Valid Ohio Police Officer Training Academy certificate
  4. Valid Ohio Driver’s License
  5. Good driving record
  6. No felony or domestic violence convictions
Police Career

A candidate must also complete a multi-phase selection process. These phases include:

  1. Successfully pass a Fitness Test (40th percentile based on Cooper Institute Standards for Physical Fitness in 5 out of 6 events)
  2. Written Test and Personality Trait (score 70% or higher to continue process)
  3. Background Investigation (includes but not limited to contacting present and former employers, criminal history check, contacting personal references, credit report)
  4. VSA (voice stress analysis)
  5. Panel Interview
  6. Drug Test
  7. Medical Exam
  8. Psychological Test
