The Fire Department consists of 4 stations to serve the residents of Austintown with fire & medical needs. Check us out on Facebook.

Stations #1 and #2 are manned 24 hours a day. Stations #3 and #4 are part-time stations.

The Austintown Township PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) currently employs 20 full-time dispatchers. At any particular time there may be three to five dispatchers on duty to simultaneously handle all the duties shown here:
With experience ranging from brand new to 22 years our Dispatchers have handled just about anything you could imagine and probably some things you would not want to imagine; but that is part of the appeal of Dispatching as a career. The monitors show (starting at top left): external video cameras, map for tracking call locations, Next Generation 911 (NG9-1-1) interface, LEADS/NCIC system, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and the radio interface.
The system is a Motorola 800 MHz P25 Astro digital trunked radio system consisting of the Prime Site, core and 8 repeaters at the our tower site located on Barrington Drive. Additionally there are simulcast sites at the Boardman Township’s Government Center on Market Street, on top of the stadium at Youngstown State University and on a tower belonging to WNEO. Dispatch Centers are located inside the Austintown Police Department and the Boardman Police Department. Each Dispatch location has four Motorola MCC 7500 consoles. In an emergency the dispatchers from either dispatch center can go to the other center and have full access to the radio system as if they were sitting at the own consoles.
